This is my first metal sculpture for my metal fabrication class. Our assignment was to choose a home- it could be the ones shown in our assignment guidelines or your choice- and design a gate or a window bar fixture for it. After choosing and refining our design, we would transfer it on to a larger paper. The finished piece is like a mock up showing the scale of the design at approximately 50%. I used spot welding to create the entire piece. I used curved rods and pipes to bend the curved areas in the middle and I used the band-saw to cut the inner curved side at the bottom.
